Symptoms of a slipping car clutch:

The vehicle shakes severely when starting, its speed cannot be increased, acceleration is slow, it lacks power when going uphill, and its fuel consumption is high. The main reason is that the clutch's torque transmission capacity has decreased, and in severe cases, it cannot transmit torque. The fault reason is:

1) When the clutch experiences slight wear, the disengaging mechanism may push the disengaging finger to its limit, and if the clutch slave cylinder is not adjusted in time, this can result in the disengaging finger lacking room to return to its original position. Consequently, the pressure plate's clamping force decreases, leading to clutch slippage and severe wear.

2) Driving operation issues: Failing to fully release the clutch pedal, excessive use of the half-clutch state, operating at overload, and climbing steep slopes, all contribute to severe wear and tear on the clutch.

Inspection method for slipping: Use the hand brake to fully brake the vehicle, step on the clutch pedal, then start the engine in first gear, and release the clutch pedal. If the engine can stop, it indicates that the clutch is not faulty. Conversely, if the clutch is slipping, it needs to be disassembled and inspected. The causes of clutch slipping can be traced back to the following aspects:

1. Driven plate (steel plate) assembly: oil on friction plate, carbonization of friction plate, burning loss, damage to friction plate, and friction plate worn down to the rivet.

2. Cover (pressure plate) assembly: diaphragm spring damaged, pressure plate working end surface worn significantly with wear exceeding 0.3mm, deformed, mounting screws loose, and release finger end jump exceeding 1mm.

3. Flywheel: The wear on the working surface of the flywheel exceeds 0.5mm.

4. Separation mechanism: The release fork has no play, the clutch pedal has no free play, and the release bearing has no play.
